Star Wars: The Old Republic – Frequently Asked Questions

Tell me a little about Disciples of the Blade.  What can I expect?

Disciples of the Blade (DotB) is a SWTOR guild that arose from Tribes, Ultima Online, Star Wars Galaxies, and World of Warcraft. The guilds that fed the majority of our newly formed guild from SWG were The Trader’s Guild, Azur Akun, and Rogue Squadron from the Tarquinas server. Together, we have united to form separate guilds for World of Warcraft, Rift, and most recently, Star Wars: The Old Republic. We strive to become a leader for all future MMO guilds to hold a standard to. We are honorable players, and we will lead by example.

Disciples of the Blade is different. We are in this for the long haul. While all applicants will receive a fair trial period, we will not accept every application for membership because we feel it is better to have a close group of mature, intelligent, and ambitious players that know each other & each other’s talents well than to have a large list of inactive guild members and useless accounts six months into the game. If your application leads us to believe that you are unsure about your decision to play the game, or can’t promise us a quality trait that we can put to use and will need for the betterment of the guild, then you will be politely thanked & shooed to the next “all-accepting” guild. Inactive members will be pruned from the guild after 3-4 months of inactivity unless leadership knows of their situation ahead of time.

What faction is DotB in SWTOR and what server is the guild hosted on?

Sith Empire on Prophecy of the Five, a U.S. PvP server.

How old do I have to be to join DotB’s SWTOR guild?

How long is the probationary period?

The probationary period is approximately 30 to 60 days, but this highly depends on your in-game and forum activity. Basically, if we have to ask who you are at the end of 60 days … it could take longer. If you’re super active and well-known, it might be less than 30.

Whats the process of applying?

There are a couple of ways to gain access to the DotB Star Wars: The Old Republic guild at this time, depending on where you are coming from and if you are already a DotB member.  All members recruited are required to to fill out the standard application. If you are sent an invite in-game, you have 30 days in which to complete and post one.  If you are coming from outside of the DotB family and have no contact in-game, please fill out and post an application here, and someone will contact you. Alternately, you can track down an officer in-game and make first contact if you prefer.

What classes are you currently recruiting?

View this page for information regarding recruitment.

If I am accepted into the Star Wars The Old Republic guild, do I automatically gain entrance into the WoW/Rift Guilds or any other game that there is a DotB guild formed?

Short answer… Maybe. Please follow the application process for the game in question or talk to a senior DotB Officer who will be able to advise and/or direct you.

Didn’t you pretty much steal a lot the text here from Aular’s Rift FAQ?

Yes, we often steal text from each other for the sake of consistency and laziness.

I read the Rift FAQ. Does getting hit with Aular’s hammer really hurt?

Yes. You would probably cry.
