RIFT - Frequently Asked Questions
Tell me a little about Disciples of the Blade. What can I expect?
Disciples of the Blade (DotB) is a WoW guild that arose from Tribes, Ultima Online, and Star Wars Galaxies. The guilds that fed the majority of our newly formed guild from SWG were The Trader's Guild, Azur Akun, and Rogue Squadron from the Tarquinas server. Together, we have united to form separate guild for World of Warcraft and most recently.. RIFT. We strive to become a leader for all future MMO guilds to hold a standard to. We are honorable players, and we will lead by example.
Disciples of the Blade is different. We are in this for the long-haul. While all applicants will receive a fair trial period, we will not accept every application for membership because we feel it is better to have a close group of mature, intelligent, and ambitious players that know each other & each other's talents well than to have a large list of inactive guild members and useless accounts six months into the game. If your application leads us to believe that you are unsure about your decision to play the game, or can't promise us a quality trait that we can put to use and will need for the betterment of the guild, then you will be politely thanked & shooed to the next "all-accepting" guild. Inactive members will be pruned from the guild after 3-4 months of inactivity unless leadership knows of their situation ahead of time.
What faction is DotB in RIFT and what shard is the guild hosted on?
Guardian on Wolfsbane. Wolfsbane is a PVE server.
How old do I have to be to join DotB's RIFT guild?
How long is the probationary period?
The probationary period is approximately 30 to 60 days, but this highly depends on your in-game and forum activity. Basically, if we have to ask who you are at the end of 60 days ... it could take longer. If you're super active and well-known, it might be less than 30.
Whats the process of applying?
There are a couple of ways to gain access to the DotB Rift guild at this time, depending on where you are coming from and if you are already a DotB member. All members recruited are required to to fill out the standard application. If you are sent an invite in-game, you have 30 days in which to complete and post one.. or you will meet Aular's hammer. If you are coming from outside of the DotB family and have no contact in-game, Please fill out and post an application here, and someone will invite you into vent for a small chat so we can get a feel for you, and you for us.
What callings are you currently recruiting?
At this time we are open to all callings. With the amount of diversity with the souls and roles 1 character can have, putting limits on recruiting a certain calling is redundant. Of course healing and tanking souls hold a greater need than others when it comes to certain instances, so be sure to mention if you have such a role in your application. Should there be a need to change what callings we are recruiting in the future, a separate thread will be made.
Is there anything I need to do upon receiving an invite to the guild in-game?
Yes. We ask that you please add what professions you have to your member note in the roster section of the guild tab.
If I am accepted into the Rift guild, Do I automatically gain entrance into the WoW Guild or any other game that there is a DotB guild formed?
Short answer... Maybe. Please follow the application process for the game in question or talk to a senior DotB Officer whom will be able to advise and/or direct you.
